As someone who has battled with anxiety on and off for decades, I know how valuable it can be to have tools at your disposal that can help calm you when you’re feeling anxious. And as someone who has battled an addiction, I also know how important it is for those tools to ground you in a gentle and positive way, rather than give you temporary relief that will only make things worse in the long run.
That’s why I’m grateful I have essential oils at my disposal, because many have been shown in studies to have a calming influence that can promote more peaceful feelings. When you’ve had a long, stressful day or are feeling anxious, essential oils offer a natural (not to mention fragrant) option to help put your mind at ease.
To help folks like myself that could benefit from having a natural option for anxiety relief, I set myself the task of creating a ready-made blend of calming essential oils. Now when life gets hectic, you can reach for a bottle with a label that says it all: Calm Mind.
What Is Calm Mind?
Featuring oils like sweet orange, coriander, cedarwood, lime, and balsam of Peru, the components of Calm Mind were chosen specifically for their grounding and calming properties. Together, they form a blend with a warm, citrusy aroma that can help to induce calm, control anxiety, reduce stress, and balance emotions.

How Do I Use Calm Mind?
Much like the other blends in my essential oil collection, Calm Mind can be used in a number of ways:
- Put it in your diffuser at home and work to keep stressful feelings at bay (or just because it smells nice!)
- Dilute it with a carrier oil (like fractionated coconut oil) and massage it onto tense muscles.
- Add a little calm to your post-shower routine by adding a few drops to your favorite lotion.
- Looking for an at-home spa night idea? Add several drops to a handful of Epsom salt and enjoy a long soak in the bath—you’ll be feeling more at ease in no time.
Calm Mind comes in two useful formats, the standard 10 ml bottle and the Calm Mind Ready-to-Apply Roll-On, so the options are virtually endless. While the standard bottle offers more versatility, the Roll-On is highly convenient for quick and easy application whenever you need it. I like to keep the bottle at home and the Roll-On in my purse so I can use either whenever anxiety crops up.
Is It Safe?
Pure essential oils are highly concentrated, which makes them very beneficial, but also potentially harmful if used improperly. You should always exercise caution when using essential oils, but especially around kids and pets.
If you have sensitive skin and plan to use Calm Mind topically, consider doing a patch test first. And always remember to dilute essential oils with a carrier oil before applying them to your skin (unless you’re using a Ready-to-Apply Roll-On, which come pre-diluted and, well, ready to apply!)
